Let's Go For A Walk

Class course pages can look a little different form each other.  With that being said, below you find video from a Kindergarten, Primary, Junior and Intermediate class landing page to help get you acquainted with the Student Connect features.

Google Authorization

Prior to commencing on course assignments, it is important that you authorize your Google account in Student Connect.  This allows you to access your Google drive to select a document during the assignment submission process.  When you sign in for the first time, you must authorize your Google account with Google and accept the integration before you can use it. This also confirms that your account is linked correctly. In the Access Google Apps or Google Apps widget, enter your Google Apps password (if necessary), click Authorize, and then follow the prompts.  Please watch the following video to learn how.

Submitting Assignments

Each teacher may have a slightly different way of collecting student assignments for assessment.  Teachers will clearly explain the process they would like to use for their class.  To learn about three of the most common ways to submit assignments, please click here.

Student Connect Help Line

Should you need help right away, there is a 24/7 Student Connect help line for parents and teachers (1 800 222 0209).

Just a point of clarification, we call this platform Student Connect in the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, but the actual name of the platform is Brightspace by D2L (Desire 2 Learn).
